Objective: A mixed-method systematic review aimed to provide insight into the psychological impact of FGM on women who subsequently become pregnant

Findings: Findings relate to power of choice linked to reinfibulation,deinfibulation,birth procedures and pain management; importance of knowledgeable and sensitive health care professionals; and relived trauma experienced during childbirth. These findings could inform the development of supportive interventions for women with FGM within maternity services.
