Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the knowledge,attitude and practice of Female Genital Mutilation among the Somali communities in Garissa and Wajir Counties of Kenya.
Study Population: Women living in communities in Garissa and Wajir Counties of Kenya and who have one or more daughters
Findings: All the respondents were aware of what Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) entailed,and 80.3% were knowledgeable of its complications. Despite the medical complications related to FGM practice,45.9% of the respondents said FGM should continue,45.9% said FGM should be stopped while 8.2% were non-committa
