Objective: To examines the relationship between religion,culture and ethnicity and the practice of female circumcision
Study Population: Immigrant Muslim
Findings: In Islam,as it is developing in the Netherlands,there is no place for the circumcision of girls. This is not only because the circumcision of girls is prohibited in the Netherlands and because it involves so many health risks. It is also because,from the perspective of Islam as it is experienced and practised here,it simply cannot be defended.
