Objective: To investigate the barriers to participation in anti- FGM initiative by the Pokot Kenya
Study Population: Household head,community leaders and traditional Circumcisers
Findings: Found that the prevelence of FGM was higher among women (93%) than in girls (71%). The result showed awareness of health and social implication of the procedure was moderate (59%) among respondents. This could have been cintributed to ant-FGM campaign. Awareness of anti-FGM advocacy (58%),Alternative rite of passage (29%) and participation (21%) was low.
